Investing in the Future and
 Drivers of Change Awards 2011

The Mail & Guardian and the Southern Africa Trust are amalgamating two prestigious awards Investing in the Future and Drivers of Change, to make the awards even bigger and better. These awards have been merged to recognise companies/individuals from across the Southern Africa region that are making a real impact on the lives of people living in poverty, through the development and implementation of effective public policies and strategies.
This year a new award in honour of Dr Ivan May, a social philanthropist, the guiding spirit and long serving member of the panel of the Investing in the future awards has been introduced. He provided inspiration and insight over the years into development in the field of social investment. All entire into the awards will be considered for the Dr Ivan May Memorial Award.
These awards are designed to heighten public, government and business awareness about the CSI activities of the organisations that enter. This innovative competition was created 22 years ago to publicise the often unsung contributions made by corporate South Africa to the future of the country and its citizens.
The Investing in the Future and Drivers of Change Awards are publicised in two special supplements published in the Mail & Guardian newspaper. The first supplement, to be published on Friday April 29, included editorial material covering the latest trends in CSI, new thinking on how to make CSI spend effective, and personalities in the field and projects that are breaking new ground and pushing the boundaries of corporate social investments. It will profiled innovative models and practices that work to end poverty in Southern Africa. The supplement called l on companies in Southern Africa, civil society and government in the region to become part of our annual celebration.
The Mail & Guardian and Southern Africa Trust take this opportunity to invite you and your organisation to be part of this celebration of good corporate citizenship. Join us at the Investing in the Future and Drivers of Change awards on November 3rd 2011 as we acknowledge the finalists and winners.
